-Hello
Thor, thanks for accepting to be interviewed for my
online magazine, to start this interview I'd like to
know something about your background.
Thanks
for having me! I was born in Norway, in a city called
Tromsø, it’s actually north of the polar circle which
means that the sun never goes down in summer, which
is when I was born. My parents divorced when I was two,
which I believe is very fortunate because I got to grow
up with two very different perspectives on things! My
mom’s the adventurer while my dad is the stable responsible
guy, so combining the two, after high school I did two
years in the Army, served 7 months in Afghanistan, went
to acting school in Hollywood for a year, did a year
of psychology at Unix in Oslo, and now I’ve been modeling
around the world for a year. Needless to say my interests
are rather diverse, but I have to admit I have a strong
interest in personal development as well as fantasy,
in any form, like D&D, literature, games and history/myth.
-You have a very diverse background in
entertainment, I see you describe yourself as actor,
model and more, how did you get started in all of these?
Well I kind of gave up on describing myself
some time ago. Truth is I have my schooling in acting,
and that is what I want to pursue, but I’m making most
of my money modeling. The acting part of it was planned
since doing high school cabarets and a TV show when
I was 15. The modeling on the other hand sort of happened
after I got my first set of headshots in LA. My photographer,
Paul Gregory, insisted we try some fashion shots. That’s
probably one of the smartest investments I’ve made.
Lol.

-You worked with one of the greatest
photographers of these years, Tom Cullis www.tomcullisphoto.com,
what was it
like working with that artist?
Tom is amazing.
I was referred to him by a friend of his that I’d shot
with. He’s a very very nice guy and an absolute maestro
at what he does. I’ve never seen any photographer pay
so much attention to detail, and it shows in the pictures
we made. I’d shoot with him any day, and have a drink
with him too! I’m honoured to call him a friend.
-On
the acting side, what do you consider to be your greatest
accomplishment as an actor so far?
Making
the step from dream to reality was probably my greatest
achievement. It was never just a dream for me, but making
it real and defying reason was very hard. The hardest
piece of acting I’ve done was probably a scene from
the play “Bent”. I had to portray a gay Jewish concentration
camp prisoner in a pretty intense verbal intercourse
scene with the overhanging danger of getting shot any
second. Scenes are rarely that complex.
-Is
there a particular role you would like to play? Which
actors and directors would you like to work with?
I’d
love to play parts like William Wallace, the Gladiator
or Leonidas. I’ve always loved movies like that. I find
them very inspiring. I really have no preference when
it comes to who I’d love to work with, most of them
are super-talented and I’d count myself lucky to work
with any one of them. It depends on what I’d be doing.
If I was to make a comedy flick I’d love to work with
Ben Stiller, Jack Black or Will Farrel, but if I was
to make an epic mythical drama, then Ian and Christopher
are two great classical actors I’d love to see work.

-In
your opinion, what are the most important characteristics
and abilities that an actor/an actress must possess
to become successful?
Positive energy. When
their mission is to spread love, and they know how to
be present, enthusiastic and passionate, the universe
is on their side. They will also need courage to follow
the signs that life put forth, and to follow through
in the face of hardship.
-Can you share
with me some of your professional projects?
I
just finished a three month contract in Hong Kong/Chine, and I have a contract in Milan for a couple of
months after February. Then I’m off to Toronto to shoot
a trailer for a feature film and a TV show called Knight
Quest. I may also be doing a movie in LA in June, but
we’ll see. It’s hard to know that far ahead of time.
-Tell
me something about your personality, what may bother
you or make you angry?
Deliberate cruelty,
be it either towards people or animals. I never let
anger control me though, I rather just register that
it’s there and try to work around it. Ignorance, especially
when it’s used to support some cause. Like people who
talk shit about Bush and blame him for US deaths in
Iraq and then turn around and do coke or some other
imported drug, not knowing that more than 4000 people,
including women and children, have been killed in drug-wars
just in Mexico the last two years. And that’s not including
Columbia where there’s a constant civil war going on
so that we can all do coke. Yey for drugs and people
who fool themselves into thinking it’s a matter of personal
choice. Go to the newly dug graves in Mexico and ask
the thousands of dead whether they think you doing coke
is a personal matter. I’m not pro-Bush by the way.
-When
was the happiest day of your life so far? What happened
that day?
I have very happy moments almost
every day, I read a great passage in a book, feel the
warmth of a girl I love, see the beauty in small things
like a bird sitting on a branch, starry skies, sunsets,
silence... My eyes frequently water up when I experience
these things. Of course there are days when things just
work out amazingly that I’m more happy to be alive than
usual, but I can’t really pinpoint such a day, luckily
they happen rather frequently!
-Thanks
again for taking the time to reply to my questions, I wish
you great success on all your future challenges!
Thanks
a lot! It has been my pleasure.
