Mag! January, 2010
-Hello
Nick, I am really flattered to interview
you, just to start it off, please give me
some background information.
Hey Edo. Thank
you for the opportunity to be featured in CoverMen Mag.
The honor truly is mine. A little background
information on me... Hometown: Whippany, New
Jersey Family: I grew up in Whippany, NJ
as the oldest of four children in a single parent home.
My family is incredibly close thanks to the greatest
mother in the world -- mine! My brother is a year
younger than me and my best friend. My two sisters
are also closer to me than I could ever describe. I
graduated Cum Laude: BA in
Marketing from Susquehanna University Current
Residence: NYC (upper-west side)
-On
starting to model: when did you begin thinking of modeling
as a career? Did you have any idea about what was involved
in being a model?
Modeling has always been
an interest to me but I was unsure how to pursue it
professionally. But as luck would have it, I was approached
by a modeling agency after one of the bookers came across
my Facebook page.
I really had no idea what went
into modeling and the business behind it. I’m
still taking it all in, learning a lot and trying to
enjoy it all at the same time.
-How did
you get your first modeling job? What was it like?
I
got my first job after meeting the phenomenal photographer
Gray Scott. He shot me and a girl for his website.
I didn’t know what to expect going in, but I thought
I was on top of the world shooting in his gigantic studio.
The shoot itself lasted a few hours and ended
with me posing as a redhead. I have no idea what
made Gray think to spray my hair red, but it is still
my favorite shot. After that job I knew I was
on the right path.
-I know it's a very
special moment for your career, can you tell me a little
bit about your recent and upcoming modeling assignments?
I’m
excited to say that I’ve been very busy this past month
shooting for Maxim.com, Blu, Vice, Bello, Unvogue
Magazines. After the holidays I’ll be getting ready
for fashion week both in NYC and abroad.
-Which do you prefer doing: runway shows, editorials,
catalog jobs? Why?
Everything!
Runway shows give you such a rush right before
you hit the lights. Editorials are great because
they showcase the creativity of so many people; getting
to see the concepts come to life and be a part of it
all is really amazing. Catalog jobs are usually high
paying jobs so that is always nice to have too.

-Besides modeling do you have any other side projects
or career plans?
Modeling
is my career plan, but later on I would like to use
any knowledge and/or success from modeling to give back
and help Juvenile Diabetics. I grew up with the disease
and know firsthand how difficult it is for a child to
deal with on a day to day basis. I would love to be
a role model for children dealing with Diabetes and
show them how I never let it stop me from accomplishing
any of my dreams.
-Favorite place you've traveled to and first place you
want to go next?
South
Beach is at the top of my list. I went when I was younger
and remember seeing the beautiful beaches and streets
filled with amazing women. I felt like I was in heaven.
In the future I’m excited to travel to Europe, especially
Milan. It’s a great perk that modeling can allow me
to visit so many incredible places.
-Do you like sports? If so, watching or playing and which
ones?
I
love sports! I grew up playing soccer, football,
basketball, and baseball and ended up playing basketball
in college. I am retired now though, I just enjoy watching
the Knicks, Giants, and Yankees in my free time.
-How do you usually spend your weekends?
Modeling
doesn’t have an average work week schedule; I spend
most weekends working. When I do have free time I like
to go out and check out the local restaurants and new
clubs. Having a little down time and just relaxing is
rare but I really enjoy it when I can get it.
-Thanks Nick for taking the time to reply to my questions,
it was a gift to
me and my readers!
