-Hello
Joey, I'm flattered you accepted to be interviewed for
my website, to start this interview off, please give
some background information.
Oh no problem
eh... well I'm from a town called Redcliff in Alberta,
Canada, probably the greatest place on earth eh. I have
an older brother that's 21 and attending the University
of Ottawa and my little brother is 17 and in grade 11.
I graduated from Eagle Butte high school in '08. I
live in Redcliff, I'm just visiting New York... I will
never call this place home or say I'm living here I am
not very fond of it.
-I know you were
a hockey player, who or what prompted you to play it
and why did you decide to stop playing hockey?
Well
I don't really know what prompted me to play hockey...
I'm from Canada so it's pretty much just a given eh you
just play hockey that's what you do. I'd say my
pops got me into it tho... I stopped playing cause I
came to New York to model
-How did you
get into modeling? Was it easy or difficult for you
to be convinced to become a model?
I was
walking in a mall and some guys came up and asked me to
model. I didn’t really wanna take it up but moms
told me to giv'r so I did and I figured the ladies would
like it eh.
-Which was your first assignment as a model?
Uhh....
I think it was a Top Man job.
-Which
do you prefer doing: runway shows, editorials, catalogue jobs? Why?
Well I like
runway shows cause they're easy you just walk, stop,
and then walk back but they don't pay shit so that sucks.
Magazines are the worst cause they take forever
and you never get paid, so I would have to say catalogues
are the best cause they pay the big beans.
-Please
share with me some of your recent modeling assignments...
To
tell ya the truth I don't really know what half of the
shit is I've done lately I don't really care enough to
pay attention. My agency books me for jobs and
they tell me what time and where to be and then I go
there.
-What's the most difficult part
being a model? What are the best parts?
The
most difficult part of being a model is being away from
my home town, my friends, my family, and most of all
my amazing lady friend. Also everyone always telling
you what to do with everything about you and your body
is annoying. And they tell you not to drink beer all
the time and I mean like come on that's unrealistic beer
is like water eh you need it. The good things
about modelling is I get paid for doing nothing, I get
to sleep in all the time, I get to drink beer and party
whenever I want cause I don't have to worry about a job
or school really its kinda handy eh.
- How
do you spend your spare time? What is the meaning of
fun and having a good time for you?
In my
spare time out here in New York I like to drink beer,
work out, play beer pong, chew on some good old Copenhagen,
and yeah that's about it. At home I like to hang
out with my friends and drink some beers and chill with
the lady and play hockey and golf in the summer and
all that good stuff eh. The meaning of a good
time to me is... I would say if your not worried about
what's gonna happen in the next couple hours and your
just living care free with your friends that's a good
time. A fun day for me would be waking up at noon
having a long breakfast with Copenhagen, coffee, country
music, and a game of crib then grabbing a brewski to
start off the day, then maybe hitting up the gym with
my boy, coming home hanging with the lady for a bit, then
going to a farm party and playing some beer pong all night
long and get right fubar'd eh.
-What is
your favorite kind of movie and the last film you watched?
My favourite kind of movies are comedies
and the last one I watched was Dazed and Confused.
-Thanks
again for the interview Joey, good luck with all your
future challenges!
Oh anytime thanks
eh.
